Vincent "Don Corly" Cobbs is an American rapper and songwriter based out of West Palm Beach in South Florida. Vincent Cobbs, better known by his stage name Don Corly, was born to Tieesha "Mrs. Tee" Daniels-Freeman and Vincent Cobbs in upper New York, NY (Harlem). At age 1, Corly's mother relocated "down south" to Fayetteville, NC with he and his unborn sister Monique Daniels, subsequent to a bad breakup with his father. In early childhood, Don Corly was invovled in multiple sports, basketball being his favorite. At age 9, his mother (Tieesha) joined the United States Army in hopes of creating a better life for the young Don Corly and his little sister Monique. Upon Corly's mother's return from military training, she brought home a portable CD player and a CD book filled with Hip Hop music from that time (late 90's and early 2000's) which fueled his passion for Hip Hop culture.
In middle school, Don Corly would write down the lyrics of his favorite Hip Hop songs and rehearse them until he knew them word for word. He would often recite them for friends and family. By the time Don Corly was in high school, he had begun to write his own a cappella verses and freestyles. Aside from playing basketball, he would participate in freestyle rap cyphers with his peers at school and around his community in Decatur, Georgia. After recording a few of his first records with his friends, Don Corly was arrested and expelled from high school just three months before graduation and three months after the birth of his first child. As a result, Corly became more deeply entangled in Atlanta's eastside street life.
When Don Corly had decided he'd had enough, he began songwriting and rapping again with a new purpose, to make it out. He decided he would move to South Florida's West Palm Beach to get a change of scenery and focus on his life dream of becoming a professional.
